'I Wanted It to Be a Big Surprise': Giorgia Whigham & Kue Lawrence on Marshmallow's Horror
Marshmallow is a much deeper horror movie than it appears to be. This seemingly simple 1980s-style slasher set at a summer camp hides a devastating twist. Morgan is a timid and introverted boy, tormented by nightmares of floods, drowning and water. His well-intentioned parents send him to a summer camp that's home to a local legend known as the Doctor, who forcibly sewed his family together. Morgan must survive long enough to confront the evil -- and discover a harrowing secret that throws his entire existence into question.
In this interview with CBR, Marshmallow stars Giorgia Whigham (who portrays Rachel) and Kue Lawrence (who plays Morgan) discuss their respective roles in the movie. They also discuss the allure of dark and complicated characters and tales like those in this film. Plus, they look back the joy and revelry of attending camp behind the scenes.
