5 Years Later, This Underrated "Revenge-Fueled" Action Thriller Returns to Netflix

It's safe to say that thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first couple of years of the 2020s are all a blur, especially when it comes to cinema. Movies that were expected to get wide theatrical releases were shelved, delayed, or outright canceled, while some went straight to streaming, barely to be heard from again. Now, one such gem that managed to claw its way to success despite having everything thrown against it is finally returning to Netflix next month, giving viewers the chance to see all the gory fun they missed when it was first released five years ago.

Titled Becky, the "revenge-fueled" action thriller was directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion, and stars Lulu Wilson and Joel McHale as a father-daughter duo looking to repair their relationship during a weekend getaway, only to be besieged by a group of Neo-Nazi escaped prisoners, led by Kevin James. Yes, that Kevin James – the King of Queens. Released in select drive-in theaters and on digital streaming on June 5, 2020, Becky managed to finish second on its opening weekend with a total haul of $205,797, and it got as high as #12 in the iTunes store. Certainly nothing to write home about, but definitely not a bad showing for a little independent movie no one had barely heard of; especially during a worldwide pandemic.
