Today sees the first of our Five Question Interviews, this is where we chat with directors/actors/producers etc from some of the short and feature films that have screened at The Dead of Night Film Festival.

Below, we speak with Director Daniel DelPurgatorio about his first feature film ‘Marshmallow’ that screened on Saturday 11th October 2025.

We have screened three of your past short movies at DoN and now you’re back with your first feature film, we love seeing filmmaker progression at DoN, so, how did the feature film come about?

I met our producer Warner a handful of years ago when one of our shorts was playing at a festival alongside one of his features. We just hit it off and stayed in touch over the years, always wanting to collaborate. Then Marshmallow came along and they sent the script my way, and it finally gave us the chance to make something together - along with Todd, our other producer and Andy the writer. Such a good group of people – which is the most important part of any project.
