Forget James Bond, This Revenge Sequel Turns Its Franchise Into an International Spy Thriller
By 2020, when Becky first smashed and bashed her way onto screen, 13-year-old Lulu Wilson (The Haunting of Hill House) already had roles in major features and TV series under her belt. Now, with the franchise’s third installment, The Last Temptation of Becky, Becky (Wilson) isn’t that same wily, vengeful kid anymore — she’s a wily, vengeful CIA field agent who’s just been sent undercover to Poland to do what she does best: hunt down Nazis.
With The Last Temptation hitting theaters soon, Collider’s Perri Nemiroff was thrilled for the opportunity to sit down with longtime Becky fan and first-time Becky director Jenn Wexler (The Sacrifice Game) to pick her brain on how she and the cast and crew wanted to continue this heroine’s brutal journey. “We wanted to reveal those little heartfelt moments,” Wexler explains when asked about the crucial character Kate Siegel (Carrie) plays opposite Becky, “while also delivering on Nazi head-bashing.” Enter Neil Patrick Harris as the franchise’s newest villain, General Wilhelm Reuss, and his twisted family.
